West Palm Beach Analyst Completes FDLE Training, Strengthens Real Time Crime Center

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 22, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department announces that crime analyst Annmarie Almaguer has successfully completed the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy, strengthening the department’s ongoing investment in advanced training and analytical capability.

The certification, provided through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, represents an advanced level of professional development for law enforcement analysts and supports the department’s continued efforts to enhance data-driven policing operations.

“This training directly enhances the work of the West Palm Beach Police Department Real Time Crime Center, strengthening its daily role in keeping our city safe," said West Palm Beach Chief of Police Tony Araujo. "It builds the analytical capacity we depend on to recognize emerging crime trends, support active investigations with timely intelligence, and improve real-time decision-making across the department. Ultimately, it ensures our personnel are equipped with the right tools to stay ahead of criminal activity and respond with speed, precision, and confidence.”

The six-week academy provides intensive instruction in criminal and intelligence analysis, including data interpretation, investigative research, open-source intelligence, and analytical briefing skills.

The program, established in 2003, is the first of its kind in the nation and was designed to create a standardized training curriculum for law enforcement analysts while also establishing a professional career pathway for non-sworn personnel. To date, more than 800 analysts from approximately 100 agencies have graduated.
